Batopin (Belgian ATm OPtimization INitiative) is an initiative of the 4 leading banks Belfius, BNPPF, ING and KBC. The company was created in March 2020. It aims at rightsizing access to cash in Belgium with a new infrastructure of bank neutral ATMs. Notwithstanding the current trend towards more reliance on digital payments, cash must still remain accessible to the public. In order to ensure that cash becomes an equally modern payment mechanism, access to cash needs to modernize and be optimized. Batopin makes access to cash smarter by applying next level location intelligence and by observing the evolution of cash and ATMs in Europe.
