The ODU Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE) serves as the primary entry point through which students, faculty, alumni, and local startups innovative organizations can engage the intellectual capital, world-class infrastructure, and cutting-edge technologies of ODU. IIE's Innovation Initiatives team supports economic growth by promoting a thriving innovation environment in the Hampton Roads region, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and select international locations. Our collection of integrated programs advance businesses and organizations in the area to become strong contributors to the economy, focusing on ventures that show promise of becoming high-growth, high-impact enterprises that create expanded employment opportunities for the local workforce, wealth for stakeholders, and social benefit to the region. IIE's Innovation Initiatives also work closely with economic development professionals to help plan, establish, and operate entrepreneurial support programs along with programs to facilitate more effective commercialization of translational research at universities, federal laboratories, and corporate centers of excellence.
