Mero Retro
www.meroretro.comMero Retro is a vintage fashion retail company based in the heart of Dalston, east London. The name Mero Retro means 'My Retro' in Nepali, our founder Sanjukta Tamang's native language. As Sanjukta, who is half Nepalese and half Bhutanese, explains, “When I moved to the UK and later finished my degree, I worked in the fashion business for ten years: running stalls and shops across London, but I found myself developing a passion for vintage, retro and second-hand fashion, especially as I became more aware of the extreme wastefulness of the fashion industry. "That's what led me to starting my own vintage fashion business five years ago: I wanted to provide people with beautiful hand-picked clothes and accessories at affordable prices. That’s the key to what Mero Retro offers: everything in our shop has been personally selected by us to be not only high quality but ahead of current trends." To date three shops have borne the name Mero Retro. The first opened in Camden Town in 2010. As Camden's customer base became ever more tourist-focused and their interests more mainstream, Sanju moved Mero Retro to her home neighbourhood, the up and coming area of Clapton in East London, in 2013. In December 2014 Mero Retro incorporated as a limited company and in July 2015 Mero Retro moved again to the bustling streets of Dalston, where we plan to stay for for many years to come. Mero Retro showcases an ever-changing selection of the huge range of unique hand-picked items that we have in stock. Each is a vintage gem that reflects Sanju's passion for stylish vintage. Mero Retro Dalston is open Tuesday to Sunday. We open our doors at 12pm and close at 8pm every day apart from Thursdays (9pm) and Sundays (6pm). Come by and pick up a stylish bargain if you're in east London. We're very close to Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction train stations. Customers can buy from us online on our Etsy store. Our new online shop launches in September 2015.
