South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) will start to conduct business under the name of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), as the formal integration of SYPTE and the Mayoral Combined Authority continues to progress. SYMCA brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, SYPTE and the private sector through the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). By formally integrating as one organisation, together we will be able to better serve the communities and businesses of South Yorkshire - investing in and managing the 102 million passenger journeys made each year and delivering on our mission to create a stronger, greener, fairer South Yorkshire. SYPTE is responsible for the co-ordination of public transport in South Yorkshire and our role is to encourage the maximum use of public transport throughout South Yorkshire and to promote growth of the public transport network. We provide bus, tram and train information in South Yorkshire, including online journey planner, timetables, ticket information and travel news.
