YogaCaps, Inc.
www.yogacaps.orgIncorporated in 2006, YogaCaps, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that builds a healthy community through yoga. The Yoga Volunteer Corps (YVC) holds a special place for making yoga more available and affordable. We share free classes for special populations at area hospitals and community centers, as well as donation based events for the general public. We specialize in therapeutic yoga experiences for those with chronic health and mental health conditions. Some of our activities: From 2007, Thriving with Yoga shares weekly yoga classes for people with the experience of cancer. We coordinate with The Elliot Regional Cancer Center, St. Joseph Hospital, Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Catholic Medical Center, and Dana Farber. Subtle Yoga for Rejuvenation serves clients and staff of the Greater Nashua Mental Health Center. Senior chair yoga and laughter yoga at St. Joseph's Community Services has been the first yoga experience for most participants, including 90+ year olds! We have several groups that meet to maximizing the energy system of the body (Kundalini Sangha) and evolving consciousness through intention (Sankalpa Sangha). We also coordinate the annual NH Yoga for Peace in Action conference featuring over 44 of the area's best yoga teachers. All ages and levels of practice (absolute beginner to expert) are welcome to this family-friendly donation-based day. Donations benefit non-profit causes. The 5th Annual event in 2012 served over 600 people.
