The Mountain View Arts Center (MVAC) will be a cultural and compassionate catalyst for advancing arts education, enhancing the quality of life, and promoting civic and cultural development in Western North Carolina. Through its programs, MVAC will be a vital part of the fabric of Mills River and a key player in the on-going vigor of Henderson County. The Mountain View Arts Center will be a regional leader in the display, preservation and performance of local arts and contemporary craft. MVAC will lead the area in presenting diverse voices that effectively reflect a broad array of cultural backgrounds and viewpoints. MVAC welcomes all types of artists and performers from our region-- including dance, music, poetry, visual, and performance art, as well as provide an artistic home for self-producing artists. Through the visual and performing arts, the Mountain View Arts Center will engage its audience in a broader dialogue with the world, society, and history. MVAC will produce a broad range of artistic and theatrical events of the highest quality and create a collaborative, inclusive, and welcoming culture in which our community can explore the arts and how they affect, reflect, and enrich our community The Mountain View Arts Center will be a key resource and driver for arts education in North Carolina through targeted programs, collaborations, and outreach. It will be the epicenter for creative expression through art making and performance for students of all ages, skill levels, needs, and backgrounds. MVAC will encourage collaboration with other artistic organizations in the area for mutual assistance and enrichment and to celebrate and share the artistic achievements of our community members.
