Guelph Food Bank

www.guelphfoodbank.ca

For more than 30 years, the core focus of the Guelph Food Bank, established by Spiritwind Christian Centre in 1989, has been to ensure everyone in this community has access to the foods they need to thrive. We have evolved over the years to change our services to best suit those needs; from our original hamper program, to our choice driven shopping model, to our COVID-19 responsive emergency hamper program. As Guelph continues to grow, so does the need for food related assistance and other wrap around supports with reduced barriers to access. GFB is excited to be partnering with local agencies in a collaborative project which aims to see increased sustainability in food accessibility. This project will initially focus on high need neighborhoods with an end goal to create a replicable plan that could be rolled out with additional partners across the city. Once fully rolled out, GFB aims to become a Hub by taking on the logistics of procuring and distributing food and other resources to the programs that need them, when they need them. Guelph Food Bank is committed to continually evolving to best serve the needs of our clients and we rely on the support of our community through food drives, on-going bin collections in stores, direct recovery from manufacturers & distributors, and through our affiliations as the local member of Feed Ontario and affiliate member of Food Banks Canada. If you or your business are interested in learning more about the work we are doing in our community and becoming a partner in what we do, please reach out to us. We would be happy to answer any questions you have and determine mutually beneficial ways you can make a difference in the lives of many. Contact Pauline Cripps at communications.gfb@gmail.com or 519-767-1380 to learn more.
