We aRe HER- A Leadership Academy
www.weareherla.orgOur mission is to strengthen the leadership, power, and voices of women and girls from all areas including underserved communities. Since it's inception in 2017 We aRe HER has mentored over 1,125 young girls through our Leadership Academy which has various different programs, that enhance their leadership skills, economic and financial awareness, health, and wellness including social and emotional well-being. Our second program (TIA) Through It All, has assisted over 205 Survivors who were fleeing or already left a Domestic Violence encounter, by providing them with a New Journey Suitcase which includes food, feminine hygiene, and clothing for them and their children, then connecting them with other non-profits to assist with housing. We aRe Her also provide classes and training on domestic violence, to educate women on the early signs and how to protect themselves. Our third program is one of our most unique programs ever called Why Me? For mothers Dealing and Coping with the loss of a child/children, our organization has helped over 80 grieving moms by providing COMFORT BOXES. Programs focused on this group are 1. Accepting the loss- First step in acknowledging they are no longer here 2. Adapting Without – Dealing with the fact you must continue in life 3. Honoring our Angels- Finding ways to cherish our beloved ones 4. Mending- Coping with the pain of it all, and learning how to channel the emotional rollercoaster thoughts
