QPG Football Academy
www.qpghub.comQueen's Park Gardens' Football Academy officially launched on the 2nd April 2016, after successfully receiving a small grant fund of £900 from Queen's Park Community Council to pay for a coach and volunteer expenses for 6 months. We are now working closely with London Sports Trust and Queen's Park Rangers in the Community Trust to ensure the delivery of weekly training sessions and tournaments. We are sponsored by Planet Organic. The progress of the Academy can be followed on Twitter @QPGfootball or here on our website by bookmarking this page: www.qpghub.com/qpg-football. The Academy, run by Ryan Dalton, is the youngest member of the recently established Community Council in Queen's Park, and he has a strong passion that Queen's Park has its own dedicated football team, as well as a training programme that helps to build the skills and sporting knowledge of local young people, who could go on to be scouted by other London teams, some of whom have had trials with the likes of QPR and Norwich FC. We also work closely with other organisations, such as Working with Men, to engage local young people who have had a history of anti-social behaviour, drug use, crime, and gang related activities within the area. We now proudly have over 240 young players registered on our books, and in order to build on this growth we have now expanded to 5 sessions per week, as well as 5 more sessions within local schools, including a brand new dedicated girls only session every Friday at 4pm. QPG Football has also had the opportunity to assist with the running of the sports zone at the Queen's Park Summer Festivals, with Active Westminster, since 2016, which has helped with further promotion of our organisation to residents.
