The Physics Society is attached to the Department of Physics and acts as the student society of the department. Physics Society of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJP) was formed in the year 1994 under the able guidance of Professor P. C. B Fernando. Its membership is open to academics and undergraduate community of the USJP who are interested in Physics and allied fields. Aims of establishing this society include promoting of education, research and advancing of knowledge related to Physics and allied fields among its members. It is instrumental in organizing student-related activities to promote both curricular and extra-curricular events. The society aims to generate practical minds and bring out the best of its members, to suit the current world of physics.
