Team KNOx, is the official off-road racing team of IIT Roorkee, which designs and fabricates All Terrain Vehicles to represent the institute in various national ATV championships. Our main target is the world's largest intercollegiate design competition, BAJA SAE. Founded in 2009, KNOX has established a team of 50 students who work round the clock to enumerate various innovations in the ATV. Our achievements - 2011 - AIR 10 among 280 teams, i.e. a top 10 finish in the second year of participation 2012 - AIR 13 among 288 teams 2013 - AIR 2 out of 326 teams in CAE Evaluation (awarded by ANSYS Inc.) 2017 - AIR 7 in Design Evaluation in Virtuals Round (1st among all IITs) 2021 - AIR 7 Sales Evaluation, AIR 10 CAE Evaluation, AIR 10 Manufacturing Evaluation among 213 teams 2022 - AIR 6 Acceleration, AIR 6 Validation, AIR 6 Manufacturing Evaluation, AIR 7 Cost Evaluation among 150 teams We also have a couple of patents pending and are currently ranked #1 amongst the participating IITs. We aim to become the best off-road team in the country. Thus, we also learn to maintain disciplined timelines and manage funds. The valuable experience gained from the same contributes to the growth of an innovative and entrepreneurial automobile culture on campus.
