The Arroyo Seco Foundation (ASF) has been a leader in watershed management and environmental stewardship in Southern California for over 25 years. ASF is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization thoroughly dedicated to championing Southern California's most celebrated canyon, the critical link from the Angeles National Forest in the San Gabriel Mountains to the Los Angeles River through the communities of Pasadena, La Canada Flintridge, Altadena, South Pasadena and northeast Los Angeles. We advocate an integrated, harmonious approach to watershed and flood management, water conservation, habitat enhancement, and the expansion of recreational opportunities. Through action projects, recreation, and environmental awareness activities, ASF involves the residents and organizations in our region in this tremendous enterprise. ASF works to reforest the Arroyo Seco, the San Gabriel Mountains and the neighboring urban landscape with native shrubs and trees. The activities of the Arroyo Seco Foundation enable local residents and businesses to become directly involved in the protection and restoration of the Arroyo Seco and in the recreational and environmental opportunities available. ASF also operates Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains in Hahamongna Watershed Park to produce high-quality native plants for habitat restoration and conservation landscaping.
