ReFigure
www.refigure.orgOur mission: To promote open science, accelerate impact and trainee recognition. Our first product: Refigure, a rapid outlet for scientific insight from early career researchers with inbuilt peer review and connections to previously published data to improve discoverability. ReFigure.org @re_figure We have built a simple but beautiful extension that allows you to submit your own data through data repositories or connect figures from different publications (beta version supports eLife, PLOS and PMC) at Refigure.org; providing open access to compelling insights , be it reproduced experiments or a novel connection between two studies on different publisher domains. ReFigure is also a great way to collate figures. Remember, trying to make a folder of all the studies that showed staining for protein X and annotating their reagents etc? Refigure let’s you do that online, with a few clicks and you have all the figures in a single dashboard (https://tinyurl.com/AbReFigure). We are currently showcasing the utility of ReFigure with data from the Reproducibility Project on Cancer Biology (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4GnatquWRw). The aim of RPCB is to fund, conduct and disseminate replication studies of 50 high profile cancer papers. If you try to read the replication studies and compare them with the original studies you bounce around, tab to tab, trying to find out which replicated figure corresponds to which original figure. On ReFigure, you will find the key figures side by side with expert commentary on the replication effort from our team (https://tinyurl.com/RPCB-ReFigures).
