Ashworth Home is located in Dehradun, Uttrakhand, India. It is situated an hour away from Mussoorie and from Haridwar and therefore has a scenic mountainous backdrop. The aim of Ashworth is to provide food, accommodation, education and a spiritual environment for children who have no support; those without parents or with families who lack the funds to provide for them. We would like to create awareness, especially among India’s youth, of the current situation in their local area so that they see things from a fresh perspective. We want to help change the perception of poverty in India – starting from the local residents. The children in need should be helped, fed and educated rather than seen as an inconvenience. We believe that this change can be encouraged by the youth of India more successfully because children are the future.
