The research conducted by the group Computational Intelligence for Computational Biology (CI4CB) of Prof. Peña at the HEIG-VD, focuses in the development of computational intelligence techniques and on their application to real-world problems, specially those related with life sciences and biomedical engineering and involving data analysis and predictive modeling.At the core of their research interests, their advanced computational methods derived from the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning domains have proven very effective to tackle real-world problems in domains as diverse as agriculture, electrophysiology, smart buildings, and computational biology.
