YOUTHphonics A Cappella is UCLA’s community service a cappella group focused on music and mentorship. Since being founded in 2008, YP has strived to fulfill its goals of bringing the joy of music to underprivileged youth in Los Angeles and raising awareness of the importance of music education. Every Friday, YP members teach a free singing class to students at Fairfax High School, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to study singing. YOUTHphonics also hosts A Cappellooza, an annual UCLA a cappella festival that combines a cappella with service by inviting several community service organizations to talk about their missions. In the past, YP has performed at a variety of venues including UCLA's Dance Marathon, the California A Cappella Festival, Disneyland, and even the Rose Bowl!
