Lambda Energy is an early stage R&D start-up that develops spectral converters for boosting the power output of solar panels. Our active coating increases the power output of solar panels whilst increasing their lifetime. Our advanced materials absorb part of the light spectrum and re-emit it in a form which is more suitable for the solar panel to convert into electricity. Lambda’s team incorporates experts in Nanophysics and Photochemistry. We are presently building new prototypes at Cambridge University’s Nanoscience Centre. Lambda is supported by academic partners at Cranfield, Exeter and Bath Universities. The solar panel market is worth $40 Billion and there is demand for evolutionary technologies which increase power output. Lambda will license the coating to advanced solar materials companies to meet the demands of the new and retrofit solar market.
