Double shot launched in November 2020 as a division of the award-winning digital marketing and PR firm, 1Milk2Sugars. Founder and CEO, Priya Chopra, first conceived of double shot in 2018 when she noticed a fundamental lack of representation in lifestyle marketing. At the time, brands that featured diverse influencers were casting the same talent time and again fueling a culture of tokenism she knew had to change. In launching double shot, Priya envisioned a talent management agency that amplified BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and underrepresented voices and gave them an equal chance to shine. Today, double shot is credited as the first talent agency in Canada to make global inclusivity its raison d'etre. Double shot’s talent roster encompasses influencers from a mosaic of backgrounds whose interests range from beauty and fitness to parenting and media. On the brand side, top-tier companies including Grey Goose, Maple Leaf Foods, Best Buy, Barbie, Sport Check, Perrier, H&M, Estée Lauder and Porsche have retained double shot to inject greater authenticity into their campaigns. The agency’s podcast, Agents of Change, launched in September 2021 across major streaming platforms. It features real and unfiltered conversations with some of Canada’s foremost creators who are uplifting their communities and moving our country forward. In late 2021, double shot kicked off its partnership with Girls E-Mentorship (GEM), a non-profit program for high school girls facing socioeconomic barriers. Elevating diverse voices, enriching the community and emboldening a new era of digital content? That’s double shot.
