Founded in 1972, the International School Sport Federation (ISF) is an umbrella nonprofit sport organisation gathering 129 members around the world. These members represent the interests of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in their country. Recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the ISF organise International sport competitions in 18 sports for young athletes aged between 16 to 18 years old from all over the world : - 10 World Schools Championships every year - The "Gymnasiade" - Mega event combining 10 sport disciplines every two years For the Youth, ISF stands for Education through sport; Mutual understanding; Healthy Life style; Social inclusion; Peace and Non discrimination; Gender equality. It pursues its goals independently from political, religious or racial considerations We believe that School Sport contributes to support the educative paths of the young people and to empower them as citizens of the world. ISF is funded through subscription, organising fees and marketing activities.
