GPCL, promoted by Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank), is a unique public private partnership model, set up in 1996, that offers collective Indian experience and expertise through the provision of a range of project related advisory services, with particular focus on procurement and capacity building/training. GPCL’s other shareholders include MECON, RITES, WAPCOS, Ion Exchange, RPG Industries and Tata Consulting Engineers. GPCL has undertaken a number of assignments in India and more than 30 countries abroad for multilateral funding agencies such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, DFID, IFAD. The company also undertakes training and capacity building in the area of procurement related guidelines, practices and procedures of multilateral agencies.
