Beauty from Ashes Rising develops futures for the orphaned, widowed and blind in Ethiopia. Beauty from Ashes provides housing for students who are in High School, Trade School or college that suffer from sight limitations or complete blindness in Ethiopia. The participants come from a blind school in the Tigrai region that ends after the 8th grade. Without our program these students would not be able to continue their education because of their lack of resources or the location of their village. As we help these young boys achieve their education goals, we employ widows whose means are not sufficient to support their families. The widows fill the role of housemother for our homes. We provide a safe living enviornment, living skills, clothing, meals, educational tools and support through the educational process for our young men and a way out of poverty for our widows.
