NSIRC works closely with lead academic partner Brunel University London, alongside over thirty universities with world-leading capabilities. The centre was founded by TWI, Lloyds Register Foundation and bp. Together, the collaborating partners provide academic and industrial excellence to address the need for fundamental research, as well as high-quality, industry-relevant training for the future leaders of industry. NSIRC advances fundamental research to support the safe operation of products and structures, develop innovative fit-for-purpose technologies and design rules, and to demonstrate solutions for long-term asset management. This includes risk-based management, engineering critical assessment, non-destructive testing, structural health and condition monitoring, and health management for use in industrial applications.
