Volunteer New York! -- an independent 501 c 3 (EIN 13-6165593) -- is a one-stop resource to increase volunteerism in Westchester and our surrounding communities for all things volunteer. For 70 years, we have encouraged adults to serve, youth to build character, families to bond, young professionals to excel as leaders, mature adults to stay engaged and businesses to address local needs. Through organized volunteer projects, as well as by connecting individuals to nonprofit organizations using our online database, Volunteer New York! helps people take action to strengthen our social fabric every day. We’ve inspired more than 18,000 people to give back, based on personal passions and professional skills. Over 254,000 hours of service were devoted last year to 500 nonprofits at a value of over $7.7 million. In September 2011, Volunteer New York! was designated as one of ten regional centers in the State of New York. Thanks to reviews by volunteers and nonprofits, It has earned the national Top-Rated ranking for 2012 by GreatNonprofits.
