MINISTRY of ENVIRONMENT and FORESTRY (MoEF) ÇEVRE ve ORMAN BAKANLIĞI (ÇOB) The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) is established by uniting Ministry of Environment (originally established in 1991) and Ministry of Forestry (originally established in 1992) as defined in the procedures and principles of the law number 4856 which is published in the issue 25102 of official government newsletter dated May 8th, 2003. The objectives of the establishment of MoEF can be summarized as follows: 1) To protect and improve the environment. 2) To utilize the rural and urban land and natural resources appropriately and productively and protect them. 3) To protect and built up the natural flora and fauna and natural richness of the country. 4) To prevent every type of pollution. 5) To protect and improve the forests, and widening out the forested areas. 6) To develop the villagers living in or near the forest and take necessary precautions for them. 7) To respond to the need of forest products and to improve the forest products industry.
