Based on a rigorous scientific approach, we analyse the emerging trends in the technological innovations required to reach net-zero. We identify promising technologies and potential breakthroughs to help investors, entrepreneurs, and companies identify future opportunities and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon world. - We build a community of change makers willing to engage with climate techs and looking for high-quality information on what is ongoing - We decipher emerging trends and give keys to understand the fast-changing climate tech landscape - We organise events to foster exchange of information and accelerate the transition Reaching net-zero by 2050 implies that all possible levers have to be activated: public policies, innovation, demand-side reduction. In the short term, the required technologies already exist (although they can and must be improved) and must be deployed massively- even for technologies like renewable which grow at a pace of 15-25% per year. However, as the International Energy Agency states in its Net-Zero by 2050 scenario, up to 50% of the emission reduction in 2050 will come from technologies which are still in the development phase. This development will be based on incremental but also breakthrough innovations. The climate tech field is in full swing, motivated by the size of the challenge. There is a strong need for an independent think tank doing science-based technological foresight in the area of climate technologies and able to inform about promising emerging trends- this is Zenon!
