First and foremost, we are passionate about seaweed! We wild-harvest seaweed in the Lofoten Islands, just north of the Arctic Circle. The cold, pristine waters produce strong, healthy plants, which we use to create sustainable seafood products that are organic-certified and delicious. Seaweed is an excellent option for controlled diets such as veganism, vegetarianism, low-sodium, calorie-restricted and iodine-supplemented. It's also a superfood with super flavour, and is an exciting ingredient for any creative cook! From careful monitoring of our harvesting locations to minimum waste packaging, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We're dedicated to bringing seaweed into the modern kitchen; it's good for your palate, and good for the planet! As well as supplying seaweed products to retailers all over Europe, we supply Bocuse d'Or-nominated chefs and Michelin-Starred restaurants with seaweed, handpicked in beautiful Lofoten. Lofoten Seaweed was founded by Angelita - a fisherman's daughter from Lofoten - and Tamara, who grew up in New Zealand eating seaweed dishes cooked by her Japanese mother. Lofoten Seaweed draws on our combined heritage, and love of the ocean, to bring new food traditions to Norway and Europe.
