HEART (Humane Education Advocates Reaching Teachers), an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity, is dedicated to fostering a more compassionate and sustainable world through education. In a society facing global issues like interpersonal violence, pollution, institutionalized animal cruelty, and poverty, investing in humane education can have a broad and lasting impact by addressing a range of challenges simultaneously. HEART’s programs empower students to combat real-world problems by helping them make more compassionate and informed choices that affect their fellow human beings, other species, and the natural world. Lessons are specially designed to promote a combined focus on social justice, animal protection, and environmental stewardship. We are the only full-service provider of humane education in the greater New York City, Chicago, and Indianapolis areas, and our reach extends worldwide. HEART's services to educators, administrators, community leaders, and students are delivered via direct classroom instruction, teacher training, resource dissemination, and consulting engagements. Our advocacy efforts strive to secure education sector and legislative support for humane education. HEART aims to facilitate the integration of humane education into regular classroom curricula, stemming from our belief that humane education should be part of every child’s education.
