Children of Prisoners Europe is a network umbrella organisation consisting of over 35 member individuals and organisations working on behalf of children with imprisoned parents across Europe. Each member works to safeguard the social, political and judicial right of these children to maintain contact with their imprisoned parent - a right stipulated by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Article 9). Children of Prisoners Europe lobbies at the national, pan-European and international level for the rights of these children and leads awareness raising campaigns and events on the various issues to which these children are vulnerable - including social isolation, stigma and shame.
