Suncoast Health Council, Inc. is one of 11 local health councils created by Florida Statute to increase access, affordability, and quality of health care services at the local level. Suncoast Health Council is the designated health planning agency for Pinellas and Pasco County. Suncoast Health Council collects and analyzes health care data, facilitates community dialogue about local health care issues, and designs and administers program services to resolve current and emerging health care needs. The Health Council's current programs include HIV/AIDS Planning and Quality Management; Certificate of Need Planning; Medication Access Services, and an Insurance Services Program for People Living with HIV/AIDS in the Tampa Bay and West Central areas of Florida.
