MicroLoan Foundation USA
www.microloanfoundationusa.orgMicroLoan Foundation USA seeks to alleviate poverty, advance education and relieve sickness in developing countries. We carry out our mission by empowering poor underserved rural women to become self-sufficient through the provision of microloans, specialized business training and continued mentoring and support. We give women a hand up, not a hand out. MLF is a leader in socially driven nonprofit microfinance. In sub-Saharan Africa, we employ over 200 local staff in 32 rural locations, serving almost 90,000 women annually. MLF enables women to own and operate self–sustainable businesses, creating a steady income stream, while teaching women how to maintain savings in case of emergencies. With their increased income women and their dependents have greater access to education, healthcare, food, sanitation and clean drinking water. We maintain a 99% loan repayment rate, allowing MLF to recycle capital and advance secondary and tertiary loans to more and more women. On average, each of the 280,000+ women served by MLF to date has 4-5 dependents ultimately benefiting from MLF’s assistance. In total, over 1.4 million people have benefited from MLF’s services. With our help, they seek greater educational opportunities, use healthcare facilities, consume clean water and benefit from improved sanitation. As our clients’ businesses grow and additional women join our ranks MLF continues to provide the means for thousands of women to increase income and improve their lives. #womensempowerment #financialliterecy
