Monks BBQ

www.monksq.com

As a family owned business, Monk’s is dedicated to making sure your BBQ experience is traditional and authentic. We take no shortcuts when smoking our meats. This means long nights, but a great product that we’re proud to put our name on. Loudoun County natives, Brian "Monk" Jenkins and his wife Kirsten, started Monk's in July 2011 as a mobile operation, set up outside of Corcoran Brewery in Waterford, Virginia. For Monk, smoking barbecue is a personal passion he began doing just on the weekends. Since then, they've received many accolades, including "Best Food Truck in the DC Area so when an opportunity became available to open a permanent restaurant location at 251 N. 21st Street, next to Southern States they went for it. Since opening the brick and mortar location they've won several more awards, including Best BBQ Restaurant in the Area" in 2016 and 2017 by WTOP's listeners and readers poll, and "Best BBQ in Loudoun County", for several years running, by the Loudoun Times Mirror and Loudoun Now newspapers.
