Counselling * Psychotherapy * Psychology * Psychosexual & Relationship Therapy The Awareness Centre is a psychotherapy and counselling centre offering mental health services from their centres in Clapham and Tooting, South London. Founded in 2005 by Michaela McCarthy, we have more than 100 qualified, accredited therapists working with us offering a range of talking therapies including NHS, low cost and private counselling, psychotherapy, psychology and psychosexual and relationship therapy. We also offer a multilingual, LGBTQ and child and adolescent counselling service along with anger management, addiction and bereavement therapy. We’re proud to work with the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLAM), and with South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) in partnership with Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) to deliver 6 or 12 free counselling sessions within GP surgeries in Lambeth and Wandsworth. We are also contracted by Care UK to deliver the counselling service in HMP Brixton, which is a category C prison for men.
