Witlingo
www.witlingo.comWhile now indispensable and ubiquitous, the smart phone and the smart tablet have arguably brought out some of the worst behavior in us: they have made us self centered, impolite (looking at your phone while talking to someone in front of you), impulsive; they have affected our sleep, they have shortened our attention span, and they have caused tens of thousands of deaths due to texting and driving. The list is long. Technologies like the Amazon Echo and soon Google Home have the potential to both respect the flow of human conversation and deliver the value that the smart phone delivers, but through a far more human-centric interface. We at Witlingo want to contribute to building experiences that bring out the best in us: real bonding with other humans, natural communication, imagination, love for the spoken word, immersion in real (not virtual or artificial) experiences, minimal noise, minimal interruption, less addictive/compulsive behavior, connectivity with nature, the ability to connect with others who live in a radically different world (the blind, the handicapped, the illiterate, etc.).
