Center for Ethics of Technology (CET) is an international think&do tank, run under the auspices of the Humanites Institute, advocating responsible, human and environment friendly innovations. We want the design, implementation and use of technologies to be aligned with the commonly shared priniciples and values, e.g. • human dignity, • justice and fairness, • inclusiveness, • respect of privacy, • human well being, • environmental care, and the Polish tech companies to gain a competitive edge by being robust, lawful and ethical. At CET we are convinced that the technological progress is not determined by forces being out of human control and that we can influence its direction. Our goals are: • Promoting responsible design, implementation and use of technology transparent and inclusive of different stakeholders. • Creating a platform for debate and integration of different communities around the issues of tech ethics as well as the possibilities and challenges connected with the responsible innovations. • Critical insight into the tech narratives in terms of different interest groups and their impact on areas such as: individual (mental), social, economic and political life. • Conducting research on companies', institutions' and users' attitudes towards existing moral norms and recommended ethical standards in the digital age. • Advocacy for the practical implementation of tech ethics standards in different areas and sectors as well as for the appropriate education in this regard.
