chartered architects - an inter disciplinary partnership practice across art and architecture architectureAND was formed in 2002 as a cross disciplinary practice and chartered architects. the practice was relocated from london to st. ives in 2006 and is establishing a portfolio of work that responds to the new context of west penwith, its unique landscape, building traditions and use of materials that goes back to prehistory. architectureAND seeks to make an architecture that is site specific and that establishes and develops a design brief in collaboration with the client. current work has concentrated on a number of purpose built houses and particularly on a series of interventions within west penwith that take inspiration from its archeological  assemblages, its geological, geographical and social history. our work persues the highest environmentally and socially sustainable standards, is rooted in the local material context while seeking to establish innovative modes of construction to address the demands of modern life.
