Established in 1994, Lanka Kade is a family run business based in the heart of the UK specialising in the design, craft and wholesale of fair trade wooden toys and gifts for children. The name Lanka Kade translates to ‘The Sri Lankan Shop’. We are passionate about creating quality, educational toys that inspire children to learn through play. Our distinctive range offers both bright, bold colours and natural wood finishes. All of our toys are exclusively designed in-house in the UK and handcrafted by skilled artisans in Sri Lanka. Our aim is to reduce poverty through trade. We build long term sustainable trading partnerships that provide stability and protect local skills. We offer advice, training and interest free loans to support business development with our artisans in Sri Lanka. At Lanka Kade, we comply with the internationally accepted 10 Principles of Fair Trade and we have been a proud and active member of BAFTS Fair Trade Network UK since 2001.
