Summit County Safety Council

www.thesummitcountysafetycouncil.org

Goals: All Ohio Safety Councils have a goal to increase safety awareness, but developing and maintaining a safe workplace is no easy task. That is why there must be a combined effort of local companies and the community. Ohio has many safety councils, all made up of local companies and typically organized through a chamber of commerce, trade and manufacturing associations, or other local safety minded organizations. These Safety Councils hold regular meetings to examine and resolve potential and existing safety issues. They inform participants about new techniques and products as well as provide a thorough knowledge of these services. Who May Enter: The campaign is open to all companies, corporations and individual employers in Ohio. Please contact Sally Cox regarding membership, or register on-line via our enrollment form. Objectives: 1.To meet monthly with members of the SCSC inviting guest experts from the industry and government to discuss work related safety topics and issues. 2.To plan and develop at least one seminar/workshop related to safety issues in the workplace per year. 3.To disseminate safety literature and other information to members of the SCSC at monthly meetings, seminars, and through mailings. 4.To assist members with safety related needs and provide technical assistance to them where necessary. 5.To promote participation in the All-Ohio Safety and Health Congress and Exhibit sponsored by the Division of Safety and Hygiene and educational opportunities offered by other safety organizations/associations.
