Our small classes, dynamic IEP, therapeutic counselling and rapport-based learning helps students earn their diploma in a highly supportive community setting. Teens who aren't thriving in school due to stress, academic and social anxiety, bullying, and scheduling conflicts. Who is the AVRO student? Teens with a complex Individual Education Plan (IEP), identifying learning difficulties associated with attention disorders, in combination with significant anxiety/depression, or complications due to family circumstances. Teens who may be atypical, gifted, or diagnosed, as well as undiagnosed on the spectrum, with high-functioning Autism, Asperger's and ADHD. We empower our students to take charge of their destiny. Our students achieve Ontario curriculum expectations, guided by their own passions, interests, and strengths. Along with gaining their credits, they also acquire invaluable study habits, leadership skills, and the power to take responsibility for their future. All learning programs are personalized, so students leave well prepared to take their next steps. They gain confidence from our positive and nurturing environment. Teachers play a vibrant role in the lives of students at AVRO Academy. They act as facilitators, guides, and counselors, helping students to learn about themselves and the world around them. They work together with students as partners to build upon traditional knowledge and discover new ideas. Learning how to see relationships and make connections are key components of our courses.
