HEAR US is a national nonprofit, based in Naperville, IL, that gives voice and visibility to children and youth experiencing homelessness. Diane Nilan, founder and president, travels the country chronicling the plight and promise of our nation's 7 million+ invisible homeless children and youth. Her award-winning documentaries and acclaimed presentations shed a much-needed light on this issue. She is considered one of the top experts on homeless families/youth in the nation. Nilan has traveled over 350,000 miles, working out of her motorhome, "Tillie," which has been her sole residence since starting HEAR US in 2005.
