Stanford Social Entrepreneurial Students Association

www.sensaimpact.com

We aim to solve the problems of the world by developing the field of social entrepreneurship via empowering social entrepreneurs through a focus on the education of all related parties, a creation of networks and the connection of young people with mentors, and the incubation of ideas from initial stages. We focus on four initiatives: VIP Very Impactful People (VIP) is a speaker series that features a different social entrepreneur every week during Fall and Spring Quarter. VIP has invited speakers from several different sectors — non-profit, investing, academic, etc. It is a great way to reach a large pool of students to get them curious about Social E. VIP hopes to expand VIP to reach a wider audience and eventually outside the Stanford community. LABS The SENSA Labs Team organizes an established incubator class that has run for 3 years in the Spring at Stanford University. Labs Associates design the syllabus, reach out to prominent people in the field of social-E, have access to our extensive database of mentors and alumni, and serve as TAs in the class. FELLOWSHIP The Fellowship Team partners with game-changing Social E organizations across the country to offer Stanford undergraduates with paid summer fellowships. They offer a diverse opportunities — from software engineering to business development — at companies driving systemic social change in a variety of sectors. Students are able to gain meaningful experience contributing to an organization that is creating real change while developing their own skills, understanding social issues, and exploring the vast Social E space. LEARNING The Learning Team works to educate its members about the wider world of Social E through in-meeting programming (i.e. case studies, presentations, etc.) and a variety of all-campus events. The goal of the Learning Team is to equip members with the knowledge of the diverse components that make up the Social E space. The Learning Team works to enable the future leaders in the Social E field to nurture their ideas with new and stronger skills.
