Access Sydney Community Transport (ASCT) offers a range of accessible and affordable transport options across nine Local Government Areas. Services include social, shopping and medical trips, individual and group transport options, assisted shopping, free shuttle bus services in the City of Sydney, a shuttle bus service in Ashfield, and travel training services in the Inner West. Its main target groups are frail older people, younger people with disabilities, and people who are transport disadvantaged. ASCT currently receives funding from Transport for NSW, NSW Department of Family and Community Services, and NSW Department of Health. It is also contracted by the City of Sydney to provide the Village to Village shuttle bus services. The governing body of ASCT is a skills-based volunteer Board comprised of individuals with relevant expertise and a strong commitment to locally-based community transport. ASCT places great value on quality, safety and customer service. It is accredited under the Bus Operator Accreditation Scheme (BOAS). In addition, ASCT is fully compliant with the Commonwealth Home Care Standards and the NSW Disability Service Standards. ASCT has a sound, on-the-ground presence, actively seeking meaningful consultation with local communities which contributes directly to service development and improvement. ACST’s key partners include its funding bodies, City of Sydney Council, Strathfield Municipal Council, community transport providers in the local region and beyond, and a wide range of aged care providers, disability service providers, and language, cultural and community groups.
