Kingdom Trails
www.kingdomtrails.orgThe Kingdom Trail Association is a nonprofit organization with the mission to provide recreation and education opportunities by managing, maintaining, and building trails to foster the health of our local community, surrounding environment, and regional economy. KTA strives to accomplish this mission by offering 100+ miles of quality non-motorized, multi-use, all four seasons, and all level of ability trails. Founded in 1994 by a group of visionaries, the organization is now driven by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community leaders, business owners, trail users, and KTA landowners. Their goal is to encourage recreational use in the Northeast Kingdom that is ecologically sensitive and promotes the natural beauty of the area. Major support for Kingdom Trails has come from the National Park Service, the Vermont Community Foundation, the Vermont Department of Forest, Parks and Recreation, the Connecticut River Valley Partnership Program, The Windham Foundation, Northern Borders Regional Commission, USDA, Northern Vermont Development Association, Northern Community Investment Corporation, the Northern Forest Center, as well as local businesses, members, volunteers, and private landowners.
