The first cat cafe in Singapore, founded on Christmas Day 2013, by Sue and Sam who wanted to bring cat therapy to Singapore after many visits to the cat cafes in Japan. We chose rescued cats as residents to raise awareness on adopting instead of buying as well as to showcase that community cats are beautiful and affectionate too. We conduct quarterly cat care workshops to encourage cat ownership, empower cat parents with knowledge to take better care of their furbabies and with the end goal to hopefully, reduce abandonment. We also work closely with individual rescuers, fosterers, Cat Welfare Society and SPCA for their fundraising and adoption drives. Situated in a conservation shophouse by the Singapore River, Cat Cafe Neko no Niwa is popular with tourists and locals alike who drop in for cats, coffee and cakes.
