Trillium Round Table
trilliums.yuku.comProvincial regulatory capture is a form of political corruption that occurs when a regulatory agency, created to act in the public interest, instead advances the commercial or special concerns of interest groups that dominate the industry or sector it is charged with regulating. Regulatory capture is a form of government failure; it creates an opening for firms to behave in ways injurious to the public (e.g., producing negative externalities). The agencies are called "captured agencies". Our organization works to expose corruption within the province of Ontario. Funds raised are spent on literature and social media campaigns, aimed to educate the population about the dangers of political apathy. We attempt to identify and expose the emergence of sophisticated systems, designed to game elections and allow indirect control of government by special interests, corporations and private citizens. Elections in Ontario should be fair, for our democracy to work and politicians must be independent of big business, for a society to be free. We both raise and spend our funds exclusively in the Province of Ontario.
