Attorney Frank Carrillo graduated from the University Of Miami School Of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, in 1988. During his years at UM, he participated in numerous prestigious organizations such as the Honorary Society, Bar and Gravel, the Student Bar Association as a Senator for his class, the Hispanic American Law Student Association, as a Director, and was recognized in “Who’s Who among American Law Students”. Dr. Carrillo was born in Camaguey, Cuba. He attended High School in Puerto Rico, and subsequently received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, with a Major in Finance and Politics and Minor in Accounting, from the University Of Miami School Of Business Administration in 1971. Subsequently, Dr. Carrillo joined the ARMY and the ARMY National Guard becoming the first Cuban American Officer of the Guard in 1973. The Guard at the time had the responsibility for overseeing not only the State of Florida, but also the Caribbean, and Dr. Carrillo wanted to be ready in case the US ARMY was to do anything in his native Cuba. During his extensive professional career, Dr. Carrillo worked as an insurance agent dealing in personal as well as commercial lines, and was a real estate agent for, among others, the Keyes Company and Riviera Realty, serving both the residential and commercial markets. Since 1989, and during his years as a partner in the law firm Carrillo & Carrillo, P.A., he practiced in the field of bankruptcy, foreclosures, personal injury, real estate, and insurance matters. He has also personally handled hundreds of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. As a real estate attorney, Dr. Carrillo also underwrote title insurance policies for Attorney’s Title Insurance Fund.
