Living Wisdom High School is an independent, micro high school in Palo Alto, CA. It is an extension of the K-8 Living Wisdom School, which began over thirty years ago, and is part of a worldwide network of schools and educational philosophy called Education for Life. Living Wisdom is uniquely structured around a balanced approach to each student’s individual growth and development. The multi-faceted learning experiences include small classes, one-on-one mentorship, dynamic group projects, hands-on learning, online resources, service learning, creativity, travel, life skills, and daily centering practices. This rich and successful approach to education is designed to prepare students for the various challenges and opportunities found in life by helping them to attain true happiness, develop high ideals, achieve excellence, form meaningful connections, and cultivate a love for learning and life. Students who thrive at Living Wisdom High School are passionate and self-motivated. They are curious and interested in a rich and varied educational experience where they actively engage in a learning community, learn about themselves, and achieve mastery over what they learn. All students engage in local and global travel centered around service projects and dynamic adventures, expanding their sense of self and and cultivating caring and responsible members of society. LWHS alumni have gone on to lead authentic, meaningful, and happy lives. From pilots, to doctors, to teachers, to artists, to environmentalists, Living Wisdom alumni are lifelong learners, they know themselves, and they know how to pursue their passions in ways that serve the world.
