We are a registered NPO with PBO status and render services that pertain to Drug and Substance abuse awareness and prevention. We have recently also started doing work in the Harm Reduction space- that is working with Nyaope addicts who on the most part live on the street and work as Reclaimers or waste-pickers. We are a Youth led organisation and are comprised of mostly "Primary Knowers", that is most of our team are recovering addicts themselves and are truly passionate about the work we. Our premise is "Prevention is better than Cure" and that is why such a large part of our work is about making sure the youth become a self-aware and discerning generation who do not get caught up in what can only be described as a the drug epidemic. We also strongly advocate that you cannot tell children to say "No" if you do not provide better alternatives and so we have a number of programs in the arts and culture spaces and are working on expanding into other disciplines. With regards to our Harm reduction work we realise that not everyone is ready to be in rehab but that does not mean they have to have to become societies pariah`s. The addicts we work with often have HIV/AIDS, TB, Hepatitis and various other serious illness that require treatment or result in death. More often than not these addicts are too ashamed to go to clinics and keep up their treatments. We try assist them by taking them to clinics and hospitals and also by getting them clothes donations. The demand these services is overwhelming and we are trying hard to grow this aspect of our work.
