SOLcademy is Simple Online Learning. We make it EASY for teachers to create, edit and share videos and lessons, and to monitor student engagement all on one platform. We’re championing teachers and inspiring students. Our mission is three-fold; 1. Eliminate teacher burnout 2. Bridge the achievement-gap 3. Support learning continuity In this new world of education, teachers are hit the hardest. Having to teach 3 different ways and trying to engage students, virtually, is no easy feat. Teachers are burning out and the risk of a teacher shortage is real! Education is evolving and we’re making sure that teachers feel supported in evolving with it. We’re making online learning simple, easy and stress-free for everyone. It’s a place for teachers to easily create, upload and share educational content, find supplementary educational content from other creators and of course, monitor student engagement as well! We’re passionate about creating equity in education. It’s common knowledge (or we think it should be) that students can achieve more from learning from people that they can relate to - we’re given students control to learn what they want, when they want and from who they want. Students gain access to a massive library of culturally-responsive content to learn from people who look, talk, walk and think like them. A global pandemic is not the first disruption and it definitely won’t be the last. But every disruption puts those already struggling, further back than they need to be. We appreciate the importance of education and vow to make sure that no student gets left behind, or forgotten. SOLcademy makes education accessible and available to EVERYONE, always. We are founded by a fellow African-American, Beau McCoy, who has extensive experience in the #edtech world.
