Kat Kozak is a highly trained, professional photographer in the field of digital media. Her company, Kat Eye Imaging, began business in 2004 and specializes in all areas of commercial photography and imaging enhancement. Kat has been an avid artist all her life, and her love of art and science finally lead her to find her passion for photography, while spending long hours in her high school's dark room. She continued on to study Creative Photography at Humber College ITAL in Toronto, where she graduated with honours in 2003 and won the Downtown Camera Award for Best Alternative Process. During this time, she also had the privilege of interning in the Royal Ontario Museum's Photography Department. In 2008, Kat fast-tracked to complete her degree in Honours Media Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto in just 3 years, with her honours thesis focusing on the effects medical imaging technologies have upon artistic practice. In 2012, Kat packed up her life and husband and moved across the country from her hometown of Caledon, ON to Vancouver, BC, and immediately launched Vancouver Alternative Arts & Fashion Week with her longtime friend Kat Ferneyhough. This fall, Kat will be learning beekeeping at the Surrey Bee Centre, as she plans to launch her first beehive next spring, all while preparing for the 4th Annual Vancouver Alternative Arts & Fashion Week ~ #VALT2015, running November 20-22, 2015 at the Chinese Cultural Centre. Exhibitions of Kat's work have been displayed at The Caledon Centre for Recreation & Wellness (2005 & 2011), Caledon Town Hall (2007), the University of Guelph-Humber Art Gallery (2008), the CACY Fine Arts Show (2008-2011), Raw Talent 2013: The 12x12 Vancouver Photo Marathon Exhibit (2013) and ROAM Gallery (2015). Her images have also appeared in Humber Life, The Radix, Caledon Enterprise, Caledon Living, Sideroads, In The Hills, Homes & Land, The Home News, The Vancouver Observer and Niche Magazine.
