Hi! We are Giacomo and Piero, two junior FX artists. We met during a master in computer graphics here in Italy. Since then we had the opportunity to live side by side and work together on different projects. Once we realized how hard it can be to find a job in the industry, we decided to dive deeper to understand what other juniors like us were experiencing. We sadly found that we all encounter a lot of problems like: - deciding the branch of CG in which to specialize, given that all of them are engaging and fascinating, - finding hard times to get valuable feedback on our projects, - starting a lot of projects but ending a few of them, which can get us into a circle of depression, - understanding how to make better applications, as companies are overwhelmed with new candidates and can’t give many feedback. All of this came out during more than 40 hours of interviews with juniors that attended different schools. As many of them were leaving the world of CG due to those problems, we decided to activate ourselves and try to solve them. That’s why we created elderblaze, a place where artists can be inspired by talents and professionals in the industry.
